Welcome to the Alamo Heights Police Department

The Alamo Heights Police Department is staffed with twenty-five sworn full-time officers. Sworn Officer staffing includes the Chief of Police, the Deputy Chief of Police, one Lieutenant, three Sergeants, three Criminal Investigators, five School Resource Officers and eleven Patrol Officers. The Police Department also employs ten Communications Operators in the Emergency Services Center, one Senior Administrative Assistant in the Police Administrative Office, one full-time, and one part-time Animal Care Services Attendants.

Police services include uniformed patrol operations, criminal investigations, youth services, traffic accident investigation, and enforcement, bicycle patrol and supplementary services that include, vacation watch program, participation with community action groups, crime prevention, and elementary and junior school support programs.

How to Make a Complaint Against an Alamo Heights Police Officer/Employee

The Chief of Police has the responsibility to ensure a thorough, fair and timely investigation of all allegations concerning improper actions by officers/employees of the Alamo Heights Police Department. In order for a complaint to be considered official, state law requires it to be in writing and to be signed by the person making the complaint. Each official complaint is reviewed by the Chief’s office. If the complaint is about conduct that would violate police procedures or laws, an investigation will occur. When the investigation is complete, you will be notified of the disposition.
