The mission of the Alamo Heights Fire Department is to provide Fire, Rescue, Emergency Medical, Fire Prevention and safety services to the community.
The name “Fire Department” no longer accurately reflects the many safety related services provided. The Alamo Heights Fire Department personnel are cross trained to provide multiple specialized emergency operations. Some of the rescue operations AHFD provides are Emergency Management Services, swift water rescue, haz-mat response, auto extrication and high angle rope recuse.
The Department also provides a number of Fire and life safety education programs as well as code enforcement and fire prevention inspections throughout the community.
