Personal businesses may reopen, restaurants up to 50% occupancy, social distancing is crucial



The following information is the latest from Governor Abbott’s press conference today:

1. Effective today—All personal service businesses may re-open with restrictions. Office buildings can open based upon the greater of 10 individuals or 25% occupancy.

2. Effective Friday, May 22nd—Restaurants may expand to 50% occupancy and bars can open to 25% capacity, along with utilizing outdoor areas. Businesses such as bowling alleys can open to 25% occupancy.

3. Effective Sunday, May 31st—Youth sports, summer camps, summer schools and professional sports can open with certain safety protocols. We have already begun working with the Alamo Heights Little League regarding a process to continue the league safely.

Starting Monday, June 1st, trash pick-up  will return to the regular schedule. The City continues to evaluate expanding other City Hall services. 

Please continue to social distance and use caution around higher risk individuals.
