Crime Prevention Programs

A Police Officer can inspect your home or business and discuss various methods of burglary, theft, and robbery prevention. This service is free of charge to residents and businesses in Alamo Heights.

Insurance Reduction Inspections

Police Officers are certified to inspect your residence for an insurance reduction. Residential homes that meet the minimum requirements may qualify for a discount in homeowners insurance.

Vacation Watch

Citizens who will be leaving their homes unattended while on vacation or during extended trips may request additional patrols. Officers will stop by your residence periodically during your absence and will report suspicious findings to your designated contact person. Download Form.

Project Child Safe

Gun locks are available to residents of Alamo Heights at no cost. The lock is used to prevent accidents involving handguns, shotguns, and rifles in the home.

Fingerprinting

Persons needing to be fingerprinted for identification or criminal background checks may have their fingerprints taken on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Persons needing fingerprint service must bring their own fingerprint cards and a government identification card with their photograph affixed (driver's license, military ID, etc.). AHPD does not provide fingerprint or identification service for immigration purposes.
