Welcome to the Alamo Heights Fire Department

The mission of the Alamo Heights Fire Department is to provide quality Fire, Rescue, Emergency Medical, Fire Prevention and safety services to the community.

The name "Fire Department" no longer accurately reflects the many safety related services provided. The Alamo Heights Fire Department personnel are cross trained to provide multiple specialized emergency operations. Some of the rescue operations AHFD provides are Emergency Management Services, swiftwater rescue, haz-mat response, auto extrication and high angle rope rescue.

The Department also provides a number of Fire and life safety education programs as well as fire code enforcement and fire prevention inspections.

The Alamo Heights Fire Department works closely with the City of Terrell Hills and Olmos Park Fire Departments to provide "Automatic Aid" and is the managing partner for the EMS System for the three cities.

Alamo Heights Fire Department responds to approximately 1300 fire, rescue and EMS incidents each year.
