Community Alert – Nighttime Burglary

Posted 03/04/16

During the month of February 2016 there were at least two (2) occurrences involving an unidentified suspect who unlawfully entered apartments in the 100 block of Vanderheck through  windows during late night hours.  In one of the incidents a woman inside was tied up and physically assaulted. In both of these incidents the subject was identified as a black male, medium build and height. Although this apartment complex is in the City of San Antonio, the close proximity to Alamo Heights warrants notification to our residents as a reminder to always lock your doors and windows even while at home.

In the early morning of March 3rd, 2016, Alamo Heights Police arrested a suspect who had entered a single-family residence in the 200 block of Normandy through an unlocked window and fled when confronted by the homeowner.  At this time there is no direct evidence to link the arrested suspect to the incidents which occurred in San Antonio.  AHPD Detectives have been in contact with SAPD Detectives regarding this arrest and the investigation will continue into these incidents.
