CITY COUNCIL APPROVES CHAPTER 3 AMENDMENTS

After over a year’s worth of Committee and public meetings, the Residential Design Standard (RDS) amendments were approved by City Council on January 23, 2012. 

Contractors and architects have the option, however, to submit plans under the old code or the new amendments for 90 days from adoption. 

Considering that the amendments were intended to not only simplify the code but to provide for additional site flexibility for design, architects may very well choose to design to the new code during this transition period.
