The Alamo Heights Fire and Police Departments are excited to announce the 2012 Citizens Emergency Services Academy. The Citizens Emergency Services Academy will be held at the City Council Chambers on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Classes will begin on January 12, 2012 continuing for twelve (12) weeks and ending March 29, 2012.
The purpose of the Citizens Emergency Services Academy is to facilitate a better understanding, through education and experience, between citizens and the fire and police departments. A variety of course topics will be taught by fire fighters, paramedics and police officers that promise to be engaging and provide plenty of opportunity for hands-on experience.
The Alamo Heights Citizen’s Emergency Services Academy welcomes all residents and business owners (including their employees) of Alamo Heights that are over the age of eighteen (18) years old and having no prior felony convictions. Persons interested in registering should contact either Corporal Tim Barlow at (210) 832-2201 or Debbie McPheeters at (210) 822-6433. To provide plenty of opportunity for participant questions and interaction class size will be held to twenty (20) participants.
